"It is 'one and only.' Rock is to have something totally unique to that person. For example, a person who sings only ballad can have their own lyrics. I think that kind of person is rock."
"I want to be someone who is 'rock' and 'one and only' "
This is the exact words quoted from TAKUYA∞ in R&R Newsmaker interview, (translation by Corina). Hence, the reason I chose 'ROCK' . 96 was later added because that's my favourite number to symbolise Takuya as a changed person, and his desire to know himself more. Undeniably, I was inspired by the song EMPTY96. In fact, this fanlisting was almost called "EMPTY96". "96" is an exact reflection of each other, which in my own interpretation is a symbol to represent something 'new' and 'unexpected'. Certain circumstances that occur beyond your imagination can force you to change into another person. You might be '9' today, but you'll be '6' the next day. Hence the reason why I picked these two numbers to remind us of Takuya's misfortune at the end of 2006 and how it has changed his life (and appearance - lol).
Of course, I am not totally sure how Takuya interprets '96' in EMPTY96.
This fanlisting was originally under Daisy's care
before she put it up for adoption on
March 16, 2007. I sent in my application just a few days before the deadline because I was too caught up with Acruxistence. I sent in a crappy 2000 words application, unconsciously 'threatening' Daisy in the process D: I must have sounded like a dog wanting a bone from my master DX (and will bite if not given)
Saturday, April 7, 2007 3:43 AM was the exact time when the mail was received in my inbox. I could still remember my hands were trembling (not because of the cold weather) as I navigated my mouse over the subject headline "Application: Shimizu Takuya (TAKUYA∞)". Internet was slow on that day and that was probably the longest 30 seconds in my whole life. When I saw the first few lines I immediately ran to the backyard and screamed (it was... 7.00AM in the morning before school) and nudged everyone in my contact list, even those who are not UVERfans -____-
Thanks to Acruxistence once again, I was totally tied down for 2 whole weeks. It was not until the 21st before I started working on it. So here, I present you with the 1st version of ROCK96, on Sunday, April 22, 2007, 02.00 PM.
Layout is created in Photoshop CS2, coded in Dreamweaver MX 2004. Picture used in the layout is self-scanned pictures from What's in March 2007, CLASSWORD (nuh!!), BUGRIGHT First press extra booklet, R&R Newsmaker September 2006 & February 2007, PatiPati November 2006 (Sie's magazine), ARENA37 December 2006.
This fanlisting was supposed to be called 'H2O', chosen because of Takuya's (waterko's) obsession with mineral water (explaining why there's a H2O next to ROCK96). Of course, this is derived from Vanessa (mineral minion) and her bottle-sama's (me) crappiness <333 when we were on the subject of Takuya fanlisting. "If we have the Takuya fanlisting, we'll call it H2O FTW!" Then, we didn't know that the fanlisting will be adopted out so soon.
Oh hei, I have the coolest fanlisting with the lamest name, how does it match? (not that ROCK96 is any better)
