A kind-hearted 27 year old that had cried while reading fan letters, Takuya, the vocalist and programmer of UVERworld is the gem of the band itself. He is the one who writes all the lyrics and most music for songs that UVERworld has released so far. At the age of 13 (Secondary 1; Year 7), he started band activities as a guitarist. He is a talented individual who is known to be able to play all the instrumentsl by himself. Besides that, he is also able to play the piano and he said that it is a fundemental instrument in composing songs. According to how information are laid, it seems that Takuya is the one who started Sangoku Road (unconfirmed).

Takuya was usually mistaken to be only in his teens during D-tecnoLife era because of the way he dress. However, as time progresses, he looks more and more like his age (especially the most recent pictures -points to layout-). Also, he is often mistaken as the band leader since he is usually the one mainly featured during interviews etc.

Takuya is very close with the rest of the members of UVERworld and has known all of them since young (with the exception of Shintarou). Takuya and Nobuto are best friends and have claimed that they are 'brothers'.
